EQUITY holds meetings for parents and teachers as well as activities for students K-8.
I. Parent and Teacher Meetings:
  • Our next meeting is scheduled for February 2012 from 7-8:30pm.
  • Additional meetings can be scheduled as needs arise. E-mail Suzanne Buchanan (smebuchanan@yahoo.com) to express interest, share your ideas, and obtain more information.
II. Activities for Students K-8:
   A. The Middle School started some new programs this year:
  • Odyssey of the Mind, Destination Imagination, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee (Contact G&T Coordinator Karen Schumacher)
  • Debate Team (Contact MS teacher Dee Burek)
  • Chess is… temporarily on hold! We’re waiting for our instructor, Mr. Hal Sprechman, to be available again during after-school hours. If you know of anyone who can teach chess (with help from parent volunteers), please let me know.
   B. Interested in an in-school, after-school, weekend, or summer activity for your child?  EQUITY can help organize a program. Activities will be based on the children’s interest and parent involvement. Ideas include:
